JANUARY 10 WORKING JOURNALIST DAY EVENT FROM MTU

“IT IS OUR GREATEST WISH FOR OUR UNIVERSITY TO RISE FURTHER WHERE IT IS DESIRED.

January 10 Working Journalists Day event was held in MTÜ Conference Hall within the scope of Covid_19 measures. Press representatives, journalists, writers and the university senate attended the program. The program was held with the speeches of Rector Prof. Dr. Aysun BAY KARABULUT and the President of the Association of Journalists Vahap Güner.

Rector Prof Dr Aysun Mr Karabulut, who started her speech by wishing God’s mercy to Malatya Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeant Mehmet Çelik, who was martyred in the conflict with PKK terrorists in Diyarbakır Lice, said, “I commemorate all the martyrs and veterans from past to present, the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and commemorate the 8th President Turgut Özal, with mercy and gratitude”.

At the same time, I wish our condolences God’s mercy to our esteemed journalists Şenol Yalvaç, Akif Çelik, and to all our journalists who died in the hereafter, their families and relatives.

Rector Prof. Dr. Karabulut said, ” the existence of a media that can effectively, impartially and honestly inform people is a must.

“Referring to the principled and high-quality news understanding of the press, Prof. Dr. Karabulut said “when we say the journalist, we think of a person who makes principled and high-quality news. That’s how I think of you. Because indeed, in many ways, you write what we cannot express in words. You’re telling the subject so beautifully that when you’re positive, you’re more motivated. Of course, there are criticisms, which motivate us positively. Because we know that you love us. I am proud and honored to be the founding rector of Malatya Turgut Özal University”.

“We Produce Solutions To Social Problems.”

Since the first day of its establishment, MTU has been carrying out the work it has presented under the title of Education, Research, Management and Community Benefit Services by taking the views of students, staff and stakeholders with quality awareness. Prof. Dr. Karabulut said, ” Malatya Turgut Özal university (MTU) ranked first among the universities established in 2018 in academic and administrative staff satisfaction indicators carried out by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK).”

 

” We Are A Young And Dynamic University At The Age Of Two “

Rector Prof. Dr. Karabulut said, ” We are a young and dynamic University at the age of two and we continue to grow with all our staff focused on science, labor, dedication and quality. In this sense, as of 2020, our academic staff has increased by 160% compared to 2018. In 2020, it produced 587 scientific documents under the title of academic publication performance. An increase of 153% was achieved compared to 2019. Our H-index increase rate from 2018 to 2020 is 378% and I-10 Index increase is 426%.”

 

“MTÜ Has Reached a Certain Point in the Two-Year Process”. Speaking at the program, Malatya Journalists Association President Vahap Güner said, “We would like to thank the Rector and her valuable employees for remembering January 10 Working Journalists Day.

Güner said, “We, as the Malatya Journalists Association, wanted the second university to be established in Malatya based on what our masters did. We demanded that the name of this university be Turgut Özal University. The name Turgut Özal was immediately accepted by the people of Malatya in every part of the society. We would like to express that we are happier after seeing the level that Turgut Özal University has reached today. We know the efforts of our dear rector and we would like to thank her. As the press of Malatya, it is our greatest wish that our university will rise even more and reach the place it deserves. “
